*BE WARNED* Only download if you're planning on just trying out the vanilla version of the game. This release should not be used with mods due to vanilla files being unpacked in the data folder. Well you could probably get away with using at least one mod. However, since the modding system in bethesda games depends on overlapping files, those unpacked vanilla files will overwrite a number of mods leading to strange crash issues and instability. I'd just like to save others the time I spent trying to figure out why there were so many conflicts and strange bugs with only a few mods using this release.

Oh and the long delay in start up is also specific to this release. I've tested this with a purchased copy.

@carlomemcia

Let me just say that this version is fine, I play with 38 mods activated and no CTD, you messed up mods installation or something, personally I use a cracked version of Nexus Mod Manager, and let me tell you that this is on a 6 years old rig.

You are probably unaware of mod conflicts that are in your game. For example SkyUI, probably the most essential mod for playing skyrim even in vanilla, does not work properly with this release because the bsa files for the interface have been extracted into the data folder. That means Skyui will notice interface files that it cannot overwrite because skyui is in a bsa archive. If you extract skyui with a bsa extractor some of the menus will work and others will not work. You can try this yourself. I can only imagine the other unseen errors with other mods that extrating the main skyrim bsa into the data folder could have caused. What you fail to understand is that the use of mods depends on the mod load order, which is made pointless if the vanilla skyrim resources are extracted into the data folder. As I've already said anything extracted from a bsa into the data folder will overwrite any bsa mod. So unless your mod is a simple texture or mesh mod that is simply extracted into the data folder, it is higly unlikely that it is functioning properly. Please don't mislead people; the file structure of this release has been altered to save time while introducing other problems, I'm just letting people know that.

cheers for wasting our time carlomencia.
iv purposely reinstalled this game and added a few mods just to test it and surprise it worked fine.
maybe its just certain mods u cant use or maybe your doing it wrong but it is u who is misleading people.
the mods I tried worked well so this version is mod'able if u feel the need to.

actually carlomencia's concern is quite valid...

skyrim - like any other bethesda games that are highly mod-able (which include fallout and other elder scrolls game) are relying heavily in the load order of the files (mods) ... the first they load would be the files in the bsa (compressed) file - which actually optimized by bethesda to supposedly work faster than the uncompressed file - and then the next file in the load order would be processed, the last ones that the game process is the uncompressed file. this is the reason why some conflicting mods can work together, because the later file would be prioritized over the earlier file. however since the uncompressed file is loaded last - in the game, it takes precedence over all bsa files.

see below to make it easier ....

load order in mod manager
- game.esm > bsa1.bsa (file1, file2, file3); bsa2.bsa (file4, file5, file6)
- dlc1.esm > dlc1.bsa (file1, file7, file8)
- mod1.esp > add script1
- mod2.esp > mod2.bsa (file5, file9)

in game load process
- load file1, file2, file3, file4, file5, file6
- update (overwrite) file1; load file7, file8
- process script1
- update (overwrite) file5; load file9
- load loose (uncompressed) files i.e file10, file11, etc

i think this is why carlomencia mention that this version of skyrim is not mod friendly - basically because kaos release uses uncompressed files. it would work fine with mods that use uncompressed mesh, textures, and script files. it would work fine with mods that add new files or script, even in the compressed bsa files state. but his concern is the mods that change or update the files that the original (and dlcs) game have in their bsa, since it's no longer compressed, the files cannot be changed or updated (he mentions skyui as an example).

so ... yeah ... this version of skyrim is mod-able, just not as mod friendly as the ones you purchased legally or those of the original scene group release that use the bsa file. but hey ... you do realize that this is a pirated and repacked version of skyrim - a great repack i might say, it's only a fraction of the size of the original release because they cut and re-do some of the content. if you wanna have the full functionality of the game - languages, hi-res content, hi-res videos, etc - you can legally buy the game ...

me ... i'm actually satisfied with the repack, i even manage to use skyui with the game by moving around some files in the interface folder ... :p
i'm just doing this post to try to explain the situation better ...

sorry - delete the game already ...

however ... i remember that there's a few error messages when you try to open the inventory after you install the skyui ...
i wrote down the files that have the problem in the error messages - i move the files from the interface folder to a new folder (just in case we need it later) ... check back inside the game ... see if there's further error ...

i don't remember which one i actually move .. but i think it's between
bartermenu.swf
containermenu.swf
giftmenu.swf
inventorymenu.swf
magicmenu.swf
map.swf

I must say that although i run 38 mods with this release, it must be pointed out that the dudes who made SKYUI mod made it so that it only works on BOUGHT copies not cracked versions, thus even on this damn good version don't bother with that mod.

For good female char mods Google 'Krista LadyBody V2.1Eng'

KaOs are the best !

All of the mods work properly with this release. You only need to extract the .bsa archives and then replace the Bethesda's files. SkyUI works aswell.
Skyrim prefers loose files over the .bsa archives, so that's the reason for mods not working with extracted base files. BSAopt is a tool to fix everything.
I repeat: ALL mods do indeed work with this release.
