software like that are full of malware the only way to speed up your connection is to get better internet connection
you could try tweak your computer and disable any network services that you dont use so its not hogging your connection up but even doing that will not help a great deal

Try Internet Download Manager. It can increase your download speed and I've been using it for a long time and it works great but it also depends on your internet speed. It can't boost your download speed more than what your ISP allow. You can try the demo or download cracked version. Until now my BitDefender haven't detected any virus so it is safe unless you are using some bad cracks
